Glenelg Tramline Extension

The existing Glenelg tramline travels 10.8 kilometres from Jetty Road in Glenelg to Victoria Square in Adelaide's central business district (CBD). This service has been extended to pickup new passenger destinations along King William Street and North Terrace and includes business, cultural and retail precincts in the city, the Adelaide Railway Station and the emerging City West precinct. Tram travel within the Adelaide CBD area is free, giving workers, shoppers and tourists a convenient way to get around the city centre - linking the North Terrace precinct, Rundle Mall, the Central Market and Gouger Street.

A Trimble Robotic 'One-man' Total Station has been used to great effect for all survey requirements. MX 'Genio' files are able to be read directly into survey data-loggers providing a very effective link between designer and surveyor. Data is also modeled in 12D Model software and uploaded among other methods, as a DTM (Digital Terrain Model). From this, surveyors can provide a cut/fill value at any location over the entire site, facilitating flexible and speedy setout for road pavements and rail alignments.
