Coast to Coast Light Rail Project

The 2.8 km extension of the Glenelg tram line from City West to the Entertainment Centre at Hindmarsh was officially opened in March 2010. The latest tram extension includes a park-and-ride facility from the Entertainment Centre car park at Hindmarsh and will provide convenient access to the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, Hindmarsh Stadium and major events at Bonython Park.

The tram service will eventually be extended to provide a "coast-to-coast" service and will run from Glenelg to Semaphore via the city.

This project required substantial set out of roadwork, bridgework and tramline, with surveying services being provided by multiple teams along the line, meeting the demands of night works and a 24 hour program. Substantial as-built and quality assurance services were also provided.
